Texas Flooder's Guitar Gear
Many member of the Texas Flood email list are also guitar players. This web page represents information about their guitar gear. You will find that some of the guitarist in this table are trying to get a Stevie Ray Vaughan tone. Others are definitely into their own tone.

SRV Tone
Guitar --> TS-9 --> Amp Note A: For the $ the blues Jr Amp is a great value, I even prefer its tone to the 2-12, maybe because its working harder (only 15 watts) and it starts to growl sooner at reasonable volumes than the Deville. Note B: The TS9 is not used a lot , and only when that punch or something extra is needed to add to the dynamics of the song. Also have a Crybaby Wah but seldom used. Note C: I have found that for a better (controlled) bend w/vibrato at the top of the bend, a lighter set of strings helps, and if the action has been raised slightly from my original setup with 5 springs and the plate flush to the body. Note D: Favorite TONES from an SRV TUNE is Leave My Little Girl Alone and Tightrope from the Austin City Limits Video. |

| SETUP & NOTES | Put true bypass on CryBaby, followed by TS-10 with 0.1mfd cap across the output jack, then volume pedal. The 0.1 cap makes the effects chain have almost exactly the same fat tone as going straight into amp, not that thinner brighter effected tone. N.B. this works on other pedals, adjust value to suit. Dan Torres valve amp book is brilliant for amp mods- NOS(new old stock ) valves make a huge difference. Your tone is always much thinner out in the audience than you think- do anything to fatten it up. | ||

| SETUP & NOTES |
Guitar -->
RP-7 --> Amp Note: The Rp-7 allows me to have sounds from clean almost acoustic like to raging Marshall Stacks, and anywhere in between. No, it not the pursist's choice, but in the band in I play, it provides me with a wide arrays of sound that allow me to play various parts. This is a big plus as a times we jam with as much as 3 gutiar players and 2 drummers, and then some nights there is only the drummer (my wife), the bass player and me. |

Guitar -->
Amp Note A: Use Amp reverb or tremolo if the amp has it. Note B: Line 6 has many effect and cool stuff such as a wah, volume, rotary, speaker, compressor, chorus, flanger and a couple others. I use this amp for gigs mostly because it is a 60 watter and has 16 amps modeled in it! My gig set up is Jena and the Line 6 tuned to OPEN "G". Which is mostly what I like to play in. I find this setup gives me the best for slide! |
